How can i tell if the oil pump is going or if it is the sensor? This is the oil level sensor / sender for bmw e9x e53 e65 e70 e71 e82 e83 when this part fails it will illuminate a check light on the dash which indicates it needs to be replaced. Driving for at least approx. Robert is correct the yellow low oil level warning indication and the red oil pressure light are in the same location but recieve there warning signals from different areas.
